I never even considered that I'd be regarded as some upstanding enigma, to be revered. So off the mark to those who know me!
For me as well. I never planned to finish medical school. It was just a way to pass a year or two with scholarship money and room and board. And to this day, despite having a reasonably good career, I deeply regret having NOT done something else.
